1969 - Innsbruck (AT) -Maria-Theresienstrasse. Another slide from my first European trip in 1969. At this time, trams ran in both directions past the famous monument. These classic 'grossraumwagen' were a copy of the Düwag design, built by Lohner in Wien. They didn't last too long in Innsbruck, as a batch of bigger GT6 cars arrived in the early 1970s, so they were retired from service.

Very popular in Germany - more systems than are open today. But (and this is very sad) I didn't go there for taking tram photos, but just for a family holiday, so I only have a few slides - also, of course, photography before the digital age was quite expensive, so you couldn't waste too much film!
